Bluetooth on Computers?

Im buying a new computer rite now, and they asked me if i wanted bluetooth on it. What would it be used for on computers??

If it is a desktop, then no, desktops dont come with bluetooth.

If it is a laptop, you have two options:

with Bluetooth, perhaps you pay $20-30 dollars more with a built-in bluetooth device.

Choose not to have bluetooth:

you can buy a bluetooth USB dongle for $7-10 dollars on eBay yourself. you must plug in the dongle for Bluetooth to work.

it depends on what you expect to use it for. If you want to connect your phone to your pc wirelessly for file transfer or you have a pair of Bluetooth A2DP headphones for music then perhaps you'll want Bluetooth built in. If you use Bluetooth infrequently for the occasional contact sync on your mobile then go for the dongle option.

Bluetooth is used mostly for connectivity between mobile devices, you can't use it for internet like a 801bg wireless network.

yes get it. if you have a phone with bluetooth you can use it to transfer stuff such as pics, audio and vids. you may even be able to use a stereo bluetooth headset instead of headphones on ur pc.

try this if you have for questions

The main use of Bluetooth is for wireless keyboards, a wireless mouse, wireless speakers etc. It has a very short range, maybe 25 feet max in good weather. It is not used for wireless internet.
don't buy one with a bluetooth because its NOT a bluetooth its only an on and off switch when the bluetooth device is plugged into the usb port, i think these manufactures want suing misleading the public making them think its an actual bluetooth device
