i have 2 computers,one hub and a single ip internet connection,how i connect 2 computers with internet with a single ip,bcoz when i try to connect both with the same ip address ,i receive a msg about conflicting the ip,plz help me

You can setup (with WinXP) a shared internet connection through one of the machines. It then provides connectivity to the second machine. The other guy is right though. You should look into a router with a built in firewall as it's really not safe to be online with a broadband connection without something like a hardware firewall between your computers and the ''bad'' guys. It's also very easy to fix what you're trying to remedy in this fashion.

is your hub configuerable? can you set the internet to it and have it be a dchp or even static ips or is it a dumb hub that doesnt have any configuration....

my thoughts are to purchase a lynsys router/firewall and then you can do what you need..
