Networking 2 Computers?internet security 2006

Listen, I am having a simular problem with not being able to set up a ''normal'' windows network between to computers. When I go to run the network wizard it gives me options I can not use, or do not apply to this situation. I did find a work around but it is drastic.

First enable printer/file sharing. If unable just follow along with this: Go to ''My Computer'' on each computer, first one and then the other. Right click and go to Properties. Then click on The Sharing Tab. Now, what you are about to do is to share the root of a drive. It is going to give you warnings. Do you have encryption on you Linksys Router? If not, do so before you do this. This is very important. If you can use WPA not WEP. WPA is MUCH stronger and not crackable if you use a very strong key. OK? If you can't use WPA and must use WEP then do so. But first fix your encryption. Then on the Sharing Tab click Share this Anyway. A warning will come up click Ok each time. Then go to the other computer and do the same. If a name is not provided for you in the name box, place an easy to remember name, the computer name is best.
