Can i network two computers without a floppy drive?

I'm trying to set up a network of 2 computers in my office so that we can work on the same programs/files of one of the computers and use the same printer. I have connected the 2 to a linksys router and both are able to access the internet but we can't get them linked to share files/programs. When we ran network setup wizard, it said something about a backup or start up floppy disk...we don't have a floppy drive. CAN WE STILL CONNECT THE TWO COMPUTERS????? PLEASE HELP!!!!

You don't really need to use the network setup wizard disk.

Make sure both computers are part of the same workgroup and they will be able to communicate (ie: networked)

They have to be running the same operating system. If you have one XP and one Vista you can use the XP cd ro run the setup wizard on Vista. Otherwise you gotta have a floppy.
On both machines, right click my computer then click properties. Click the computer name tab then click the change button. Input a name for each computer then click workgroup and name them the same workgroup. Then you can right click files that you want to share and set up the sharing option.
plug the printer into one of the computers install the software, log on to that computer, and assuming it's windows 2000 or newer, open up your printers folder in the control panel, right click on the printers icon, select properties, and turn on sharing. You may have to reboot both computers, maybe not, but the other computer should see a printer. Xp or better, it will automatically see the printer on the other computer, might ask for a driver disk. after that you should be good.
Yes...the reason it asks about floppy drives is..the network wizard has the option of saving your settings from one computer to the other one, on the floppy disc...instead of you doing it manually.

Make sure both machiones have the same workgroup name. check this by right-clicking on My Computer %26gt; Properties %26gt; computer Name...Click change button if necessary. Good idea to disable Windows firewall while configuring your network.
yea. just run the network setup wizard in the control panel under network connections
You really don't need a floppy drive for networking... I don't know what that was about.
