How to connect 2 computers?

How to connect 2 computers wirelessly using protocol 802.11g but not using a wireless modem or router and networking. I've seen that this is possible. I just bought a great antenna for wireless networking and i found 20 wireless networks and 1 unsecured wireless connection between 2 or more computers. How do I do this with mine computers?

You create an Ad-Hoc connection.

When you create an ad-hoc connection, other computers can see it and they can connect without a router.

It is possible to connect more than just 2 computers using this method.

you cant.. you need a central location to exchange information.. or get a crossover cable and hardwire them together
That unsecured wireless network is actually someone's router that is not secured. This is why you may see multiple connections to this wireless network. It still involves a router though so if your wanting to connect your two machines to the internet this is only going to connect them to internet and not together. In order to connect two machines together you would need a router, switch, or hub in order for the two machine to share information together. Here is an article I found on Microsofts website with information on how this could be performed.

get yourself a wireless g card. then connect to the wireless network.
those wireless signals are being broadcast from a router....
I think you have to install some software but I'm really not sure abut it.
If you want to do it wirelessly you will at least need a wireless router.

Secure it (preferably with WPA-2)

Put both computers in the same work group.

Ad-hoc isn't typically an option on wireless network cards.
