Connecting 2 computers?norton internet security 2008
If you are using WinXP Pro make sure,
Both Computers are in the same workgroup
Both Computers are in the same subnet
You don't have a firewall blocking problem
You have accounts on both machines that allow access permissions from the other
When you connect 2 or more computers you are dealing with at least 2 layers of connectivity. Hardware layer and software layer.
You can use ping to verifty physical connectivity is working.
As long as the telnet service is running on both computers you can use Telnet to connect from Comp-A to Comp-B. This will verify software connectivity is working.
Good Luck.
Connecting 2 computers?spyware removal
evething u menton is proper except tht ping cmd isnt working . Report It
for file transfer from one pc to other pc you must have an admin user account.. It can work if do not have and admin account but it has limited access.
open up my computer right on the drive which you wanted to share and then click on proerties. In proterties clck on sharing tab and then click on share this drive click on apply and then on ok. ( You can individually make a particular file for sharing for a folders like for music)similarly you can do in other pc.
Use the Network LAN cable to conect those computers together so that you could transfer the files.
you have to go the the hard drives on the computers (c:) and enable filesharing
First of all, make sure you have a link light on the ethernet adapter, it's usually green and should be permanently illuminated whilst both computers are on. If not, there may be something wrong with the cable.
